Snowfall trio.- I absolutely adore how these three pieces turned out. The name was given to me by the art consultant @sigihill of the wonderful @newashgate gallery when they were visiting the Festival of Craft @farnhammaltingscraft. Funnily enough I had visited the gallery on Friday afternoon and bought a fabulous piece of Raku pottery by Bryony Rich which reminded me of the colours brought out in copper by heat. @narberth_pottery #rakufiring

Forgot to take a video of removing the first layer of oxides from the inside of the piece. Still a few more hours of finishing to go before it is complete. I need to finally decide the name of this one but it will come to me eventually.

My largest enamel pieces take months to complete, they absorb me completely and I usually only create one or two new pieces for exhibitions each year. This piece will be exhibited in @newbreweryarts Joy exhibition starting at the end of October.

Short reel of me putting in and magically taking out some of my small copper bowls.

Unlike fused glass and ceramics this is more like #hotglass work as the kiln is hot when you put items in and take them out.

The copper, silver, gold or steel is the “canvas” that we use for our enamelling. Ground enamel glass is what we use as our “paint”.

I will be adding classes soon to the @cornish_jewellery_studios website that you can book to spend a weekend in Cornwall learning to enamel bowls.

Every now and then I try something different with the way I fire my bowls in the kiln.

These three beauties were a complete surprise, I now need to repeat to see if I can replicate the effect. Two pieces are never identical but I want to see how close I can get. The bottom left sold to a lovely Derry man who lives in London. I am tempted to keep the other two.

It was very exciting to get into the container with my measuring tape and then start planning my space!! I think the first thing is going to be coats of white paint and some lino! I have been playing around with my design software deciding where I am going to put everything. Including the workbenches for teaching enamelling as well as silver jewellery making @krowji_ @creativekernowassociates @sineads.silver.design

After a wonderful weekend at Farnham Festival of Crafts I have headed to Dublin to see my parents and do some daughterly duties. An exciting email arrived with a photo of my new studio with windows!!!

So after a mad few months preparing our house for sale, getting ready for an exhibition and then moving house myself and my daughter Niamh went on holiday to #lanzarote as my gorgeous husband finished up the final bits involved with the sale.

As some of you know I have ME/CFS which I am now pretty good at managing but every now and then I overdo it and need a complete rest. I never underestimate how lucky I am to have such supportive family and friends around me who help out on those occasions!!

Niamh has recently started an account for her enamelling, if you swipe to the last picture you can find her account and give her a follow!
